Watermark Credit Union And King County Medical Society Federal Credit Union Merger Completed

On June 16, 2004, members of Seattle-based King County Medical Society Federal Credit Union voted overwhelming in favor of merging with Watermark Credit Union. 45 days later the merger was complete.

The successful merging of the records, accounts and systems of two credit unions in such a short time took considerable effort by employees of both institutions. Several teams of employees were formed to handle every aspect of the merger, from changing branch signs to issuing new ATM cards to creating a consolidated financial statement.

KCMSFCU members were kept fully informed of the process with regular informational mailings. On August 1, the account details and records of all KCMSFCU members were incorporated into Watermark Credit Union's system and these members could then begin accessing their accounts online, by telephone and at any Watermark branch.
